Alan C Cook

Alan C. Cook

After a short career in London’s antique jewellery and silver trade Alan C. Cook joined Essex Police in 1987 and served with them for the next 30 years. During this time, he undertook many leadership roles, including forensics, staff development, training, force control room and executive support. His final posting was as district commander for Chelmsford and Maldon.

As a lifelong volunteer with St John Ambulance, he holds several positions, including Director of Ceremonies of the Priory of England’s ceremonial staff.

With a passion for the history of policing he is a renowned collector of decorated truncheons and staves. He is a trustee of the Essex Police Museum and the Essex Police Memorial Trust. His other activities include being Justice of the Peace for Essex.
